Hello again from Chaos Software Group! Today's news is about our Chaos Data Hosting service, an optional add-on for users of Time & Chaos and Chaos Intellect.
What is ChaosHost.com and Chaos Data Hosting?
Our data hosting service at ChaosHost.com can keep a copy of your database on our servers to
- make your data available to any computer you use and install our software on
- make your data available to use online directly through a PC web browser
- make your data available to use online through the web browser on capable smartphones, especially Apple iPhones and Google Android phones.
Support for our Chaos Data Hosting service
is already built into each version of Time & Chaos and Intellect
Go to the File menu and look for the option for Web Synchronization.
The first time you use it, go to Settings to enter your login name and password. After that you'll use Synchronize Now to upload your data to this site and to download any changes made elsewhere back to your computer!
Once your data files are online, you can use the Synchronize Now from any computer where you have our software installed.
If you find that you are at a location where our software is NOT installed, you can use any PC web browser to visit and login to ChaosHost.com directly. The web site has a special online version of our software called Chaos Data Live.
Chaos Data Live has a fresh coat of paint and new features, too!
The last email we sent you showed off the new look in Chaos Intellect and Time & Chaos. When you login to a ChaosHost.com account via a web browser, the online application, called Chaos Data Live, has been updated to give you the same look and feel. In fact, take a look at these two screen shots and see if you can tell which is the Chaos Intellect program and which is the online Chaos Data Live!
It is not only about the new look, but also that some new features have been added to the online Chaos Data Live. Of special note is the new Quick Find option (look to the upper right corner of the screen shots) where you can type in a keyword and have it locate any hits in any of the types of data stored here!
But most importantly, when you are away from your normal computers, you can still lookup, add, or edit your data in the Contacts, Appointments, Tasks and Memos areas! Chaos Data Live does not even begin to offer all of the same features as our Chaos Intellect and Time & Chaos products, but it offers all the basics you need and use the most.
What does it cost? (and is there a free trial?)
Hopefully we have given you a good clear picture here of how Chaos Data Hosting is not a simply a replacement for having the "real" software, but a valuable enhancement. Having an account at ChaosHost.com provides a great amount of freedom to use your data from anywhere you are!
An account at ChaosHost.com is $99.00 for one year of service or a discounted $149.99 for two years of service for each data set (a contact database, an appointment database, a task database and a memos database) you have us host on our server. Paying for a new account is handled through our online secure store.
As a user of Time & Chaos or Chaos Intellect, we are also happy to extend to you a free 30 day trial account so you can see it in action first before signing up for a paid account. Just contact our sales department at sales@chaossoftware.com with your name and registration info for Time & Chaos or Chaos Intellect and tell them you'd like to try out our Chaos Data Hosting service.
